What do I do after getting hit by a car, while riding a bike?

I recently was riding my bike on a busy street, and on to my right side a parked car had opened the driver’s door, causing me to fall when I collided with the door that opened. The street was kind of narrow, and there were no bike lanes.
So I fell to the ground and about 3 bystanders walking on the sidewalk, and the guy who opened the car door, came to help me up, and put me on the side walk.
I was shookin up, I got a small scratch/scarred on my left arm. And my bike got a small hit to the front wheel’s metal cycle.
He asked me if I was okay, and I said to him that I was okay,
Then I left. I did this because it was my first time, and iam 17, I didn’t know what to do.

My Question is
What should have I’ve done?????

Where I live, the thing to do is to call the police and have them complete an accident report. Everyone involved will get a copy. When appropriate, the officer will issue citations on the spot. Having the accident report smooths out your interactions with insurance companies, especially if damage or symptoms come to notice after the event.

You should have gotten their name and drivers license number and reported it to the police before they left the scene. The driver was at fault for not checking. You want to ride a little further away from parked cars just for that reason..
