what dirt bike to get?

im 16 and i want a dirt bike and im gonna get one, and first i had my mind set on a 450. i mean they have alot of power and everything but then my dad told me from his expierence that just having fun doing jumps and stuff that a 125 is plenty for me. he said that like a 125 will pick up and start going fast and get to like around 60 mph which like is good enough for me. he just said that like on strait aways the 250's and 450's will of corse go faster but like when it comes to having fun going through curvy trails hitting jumps and just playin around a 125 is good.... what are your thoghts? and also what brand would you recomend between kawasaki, yamaha, and suzuki, and why?

If you have never had a dirt bike before then you would do better with something like the crf250r or if only riding trails the crf250x. A 450cc would be too much for someone just starting and 2 strokes don't make good trail bikes so I would think twice about a 2 stroke 125cc.

well if i were you i would get a 250 because your going to grow out of a 125 and then want to get a new bike, also get a 2stroke more power. also depending on your size and hight plays a big factor on what bike but the 250s have way better supension then 125s and alot more torque off the line. and brand wise if your getting a new one i would go with honda hands down. but if your looking for a highend top of the line bike go with ktm they make the best bikes around. but out of your list all of those company are great i have a budy how has a 2stoke kawasaki 250 and got his motor totally overhauled and he gets up to about 170khm on it but its a great bike with amazing accelleration and a beast.

but best thing for you to do would research everybike so you can see what your needs are and pick the best bike for you.
