You don't say how old you are or anything so it is impossible to really say. However if you haven't ridden a motorbike before I would possibly suggest getting a 4 stroke, because then you don't have to contend with the power-band while learning to ride.
Many many options out there, and these days 4 strokes are as fast (and a hell of a lot quieter) as a 2 stroke...
