Welcome. I have a Canon Rebel XTI SLR. I asked the same question you did a while ago and this is what I was told by a few people. I use it all the time and love it. However, it is a highly technicaly piece of equipment and I dont think Ive mastered it yet, but there is a lot of dummy proof stuff to do with it, so I think its a good buy with tons to learn. Id get the new Rebel though, just a newer version with a bigger screen.
