This was snubbed at the Oscars, and i was surprised. I liked it more than Pan's (the only foreing nominee ive seen so far)

I thought it was a beautiful, funny, at times moving film. The acting was great, and so was the direction. One of the most charming films ive seen all year.

Brilliant one of the best of 2006 and was snubbed for a best foreign language nomination

Penelope Cruz was absolutly fantastic and deserved her oscar nomination

It's a great little flick, and proves that Almodovar is just getting better with age! Loved the performances and the usual focus on character development over story advancement.

I certainly enjoyed it as much as "Pan's Labyrinth", and would have a tough time deciding between the two for the win! Not seen "The Lives Of Others" yet, but looking forward to seeing what could beat these two masterpieces!

I was really surprised by this movie.
I usually can't stand Penelope Cruz, but thought she was so endearing in this role. Maybe because she was acting in her native tongue, I don't know...

Almodovar's movies are generally captivating, and this was no exception.

PS. I thought the singing part was a bit odd, and the fact that Pen needed a prosthetic bottom was hilarious!

I was also a big hater of Cruz, id only seen her in English films, and just couldnt stand her. She almost ruined one of my favourite films (Blow).
But she was just great in this, and im a fan now, for sure.

I watched this and Pans back to back, and i liked this better.
Apart from Lives of Others, i really want to see Days of Glory, looks great
