What did St. Paul mean when he wrote, "There is neither Jew nor Greek," etc. etc?

The full quotation is from Galatians 3:28:

"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

I'm wondering, do you think this supports the idea of the religious equality of men and women in the Christian church, despite some of the things that St. Paul is supposed to have written elsewhere about women not speaking in church?

Or do you think no, Paul in fact was saying that female Christians are inferior to males?
