...my thoughts.Plz Plz Plz help? I am Asian and in our culture parents stay with their kids for long periods.I live in US and my parents n in-laws live in Asia. My parents are visiting but they dont stay with me much,they live with my brothers who live an hr drive from my house.Hubby and I really coax them to come stay with us,but I guess according to Asian culture sons are given more importance and the sons even sponsored their tickets,so they prefer living there.I am hurt about this bcoz I am pregnant n really need them to spend more time with me.
I have a one bedroom apt and so does one of my bros.2 yrs back when my in-laws visited they stayed with us for 3 weeks.They slept on the floor and were just too happy to get to spend time with us.
So last week when I told my MIL that my parents are here but not staying with us and that they might come for 3-4 days bcoz I am forcing them..she said of course force them to come, they are parents after all. Space problem can be adjusted, you also have just your parents and S(my hubby) also has parents only...it should be okay..
Now I am thinking non stop what she meant...I mean did she mean that in a hidden agenda kind of way,that when she comes again we all should adjust as even his parents they are...
Or did she mean that how in the past they slept on the floor n took the pain and its because parents can do it for their kids...
Or was it plain and simple concern for me and making conversation..she just added her own bit about them being hubbys parents just to give herself importance as welll...
If its the last 2 I dont mind,but the first scenario makes me feel like how dare she put her own agenda when I am talking about my family..moreover I will have a baby too that time if she wants to come next year or later...
Well, I am just thinking and thinking...and I am pregnant and its not good for me.
Please understand that space etc is not a problem,puting them in hotel etc is also not,its just about WHAT she meant?
