For a project in school we were asked to make a presentation about a person we admired so I chose Linus Torvalds, the teacher asked me about Linux and I explained he made it whilst in university and she asked me to find out as much as posible about how Linus made it. I have googled it but I cant find what I am looking for. I am looking for what he used to make it, any books, websites things like that all the things he read and used to make Linux. I know about his life and so on but I cant find much about him actually making Linux and his life in university. Can someone please shed some light?

From the wikipedia page:

"Linus Torvalds originally developed the Linux kernel as a hobby OS for the Intel 80386 CPU, incorporating elements from MINIX, although with entirely new code.[12] Initially Torvalds wanted to call the kernel he developed Freax (a combination of "free", "freak", and the letter X to indicate that it is a Unix-like system), but his friend Ari Lemmke, who administered the FTP server where the kernel was first hosted for downloading, named Torvalds' directory linux."
