What determines the length of time for voting on Yahoo Answers?

I have been keeping my eye on things lately and have noticed that different forums seem to have different lengths of time for voting on answers. I also noted that new people seem to have almost an immediate ability to vote...thus their voting time seems much shorter. I have seen questions last for up to a week + 2 days before it goes to voting, while at other times it only is 6 days. I am just curious to know how Yahoo Answers determines how long a question will remain in voting before it is decided. There must be some kind of system, so what is it? 4 days to answer + 2 days to vote seems more common, however, I see orphaned questions that can take up to almost a 1-1/2 weeks before it finally goes out of voting. Is there any rhyme or reason to this, or is there some kind of unpredictable randomness to it?
*Ahhh, so that is what is going on! Ok, that makes sense that someone would extend the time on the question...I gotcha! As a note, I always vote my own quickly so I get my 3 points back. :)
