Hello!
I plan on getting an A.S. in Computer Electronics. My interest is in repairing computers: whether it won't turn on or you just get an error; I want to learn how to fix these problems. I have a list of electives, but I don't know which ones would be best for my path (because truthfully I don't know what a lot of these things are yet. But that's what school and the Internet is for, right? :] ). I need to choose at least 6 units in each category with an ending total of 14 elective units. All the programming sort of thew me off, heh. I've tried going to the counselors at the JC for an ed plan, but they just advised I ask an instructor about the electives. And, well, I don't know any of them (how funny that I won't ask a stranger in person, but it's totally ok to ask the strangers online...). >.< Anyway, could I get some input, please?
Here are the categories...
Electronics category:
Intermediate Personal Computer Servicing, 3 units (this one seemed like a no brainer to me)
Intro to Programmable Logic Controllers, 2
Advanced Topics in Programmable Logic Controllers, 2
Network + Certification Training Lab, 1
Instrumentation Devices and Systems, 3
Computer science category:
Problem Solving and Programming I, 3 units
Programming with Visual Basic, 4
Assembly Language Programming, 3
Networking Essentials, 3
Windows Server OS, 3
Intro to Data Warehousing, 3
Spreadsheet Software, 3
I have the prerequisites all written down, so just ignore that little bump.
I so appreciate any help/advice/input, and thanks in advance to anyone who obliges my request!
