Actually, wisdom teeth CAN cause a lot of pain and issues! It may not cause all of them, but certain things for sure. I had mine removed since they were impacted and would cause a lot of problems if I let them grow in. I definitely had soreness back there even though they were still under the gums. Some people are very lucky and their wisdom teeth fit, but most people's mouths are a little too crowded for them. I understand that it can be an expensive surgery and all if you need to be put under anesthesia, but if you don't get them removed (and are one who should), it can cause you to need root canals and other work later on down the road. You can tell if you'll need them removed by looking at your x-rays. Some dentists will try to get you to remove them anyway since they aren't needed, but if you notice the tooth rubbing against your back molars or growing towards them, that means there likely just isn't room for them.
I also suggest you get your thyroid checked out. Some basic blood tests only do very basis tests, so it's good to get some additional ones too. This will be an easy way to make sure it isn't a thyroid condition or something else that would show up in blood work.
