what could cause weight gain if my diet and exercise hasn't changed?

I have been able to lose weight very easily in the past by eating 1500 calories per day and doing about an hour of exercise daily. i gained some weight in the past few months (about ten pounds) without increasing my caloric intake to more than about 2000 calories. i have been cutting back a lot (13-1500 calories per day) in the past two months and have barely lost any weight. why is that?
