What could be wrong with my Lincoln LS?

I have a 2002 Lincolns LS. About a week and a half ago my car started sputtering, I figured it was water in the engine, so I put some dry gas in to hopefully help. It seemed to get a little bit worse. It does not start sputtering until my car warms up all the way, it does not have any trouble starting at all, runs fine until the car warms up. I had talked to some people and they told me that it could be the fuel filter. We changed the fuel filter and it still does it. They told me to try and run the gas completely out and fill it back up and put dry gas and octane booster in. I tried that today and then after i was done with work i drove it for about 20 miles and it stills sputters. They didnt think it was the fuel pump, but they were not sure. Is there anything else that could be wrong with it? I do live in upstate New York so it does get cold. I dont know if that has anything to do with it. Anything to help would be great thanks!

If the car has high mileage it possibly could be a fuel pump. The only way to know for sure is to have the fuel pressure checked. There's many things that could cause the engine to run poorly. When was the last time it was tuned up? A fresh set of spark plugs will work wonders. A bad set of spark plug wires can cause problems too. Has the service engine light been on? It could be part of the emissions system causing probs.
