While I was driving down the street today, my gas pedal stuck, the car shifted itself into neutral, the engine light came on for about a second, and the car turned off. I was able to start it back up. The cable for the gas pedal is rusty and the pedal seems to stick as a result, but I don't know what would cause it to turn off like that. Also, I'm not sure if it is related, but my transmission slips and my shift cable (it's an automatic) isn't in the best shape. Any idea? I don't know anything about cars; please help me!
