I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis on August 4,2010. I have been having a constant pain in my ribs on both sides. I first noticed the pain about 6 months before I was diagnosed. The doctors don't seem to have any idea what is causing the pain. One doctor said it was the pulmonary fibrosis. The pulmonologist said it isn't my lungs. Another doctor thought perhaps it was one of the medications I am taking. I stopped the medications, but it didn't help. He also considered shingles, but decided that wasn't the problem. The pain is a dull, burning sensation. The pain spread into my chest, breasts, underarms, and upper back for a couple of weeks, but then it dissipated everywhere except my ribs. When the pain was in my breasts, it felt as though liquid fire was flowing through my breasts. When I sit, the pain is worse. I can only sit for an hour or two then I have to lie down for a couple of hours and/or take pain medication. I wondered if it had something to do with my lymph nodes. I don't know if one thing has anything to do with the other, but I have also always had hypersensitive upper arms. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what this might be or have you heard of anyone else having these symptoms?
