My period has been regular for the past year but there have been a few times when it has not been normal. This time when I got my period it was more than 45 days late and now that I have it, its not flowing like a regular menstrual cycle. Instead, for the past week there have been old dark brown blood that look similar to clots whenever I wipe. There is a small amount of blood on my pads and a few dark clumps at times. Usually my period is for only 3 days but this has been going on for about 8 days now. Also, I took a pregnancy test just to be safe and I am not pregnant.
What could be causing my menstrual cycle to be doing this?
