What could be causing my 1998 dodge intrepid to over heat?

ok i took the car to a shop and had practically everything replaced. first was the radiator. after the car ran fine but the shop i had taken it to before didn't tight up the transmission hose and it was leaking transmission fluid but the car ran fine until they tightened it. they also "unkinked" a hose running under the reservoir .ever since then its been overheating. after taking it to another shop ive had the water pump and timing belt replaced. the thermostat was also replaced 3 TIMES!!! but the car still overheats. then they told me it may be a head problem but the water and oil dont mix and the car comes with a safety feature that allows the car to shut down before over heating and damaging something. i talked to dodge and they've told me that as many times that the car has shut down that the water and oil should have started mixing a while ago.i drive 84 miles to and from work so all the towing fees and service on the car has really drained my pockets. i had to pull over 1000 dollars to have the car worked on and the car still isn't fixed. the most recent discovery was there was a crack in my reservoir. could this be the problem? any help would be greatly appreciated
