I am doing Math homework and the coordinate notation for a translation is (x,y) --> (x+a, y+b). In my book it does not explain the coordinate notation for a reflection very well. All I know is that it was saying something about if the reflection goes over the y axis then x must be mutliplied by -1. The opposite goes for when it is over the x axis. So I need to know how I would write the coordinate notation for a reflection.
I don't know but is this right? (x,y) --> (x+a, y(-1) + b
