what compels people to chase other people in a car?

okay I was driving down the free way going 70 /75 when a truck that was in front of me and had been cuts in front of me and slams on his breaks making me go about 25 and almost off the road. we are about a quarter to almost a half mile away from my exit so I just decided to stay behind the guy as he started coasting. I got off at my exit and got in the other lane going 50 the speed limit on this road. he gets right next to me and starts revving his engine, and swerving at my car. I just try to ignore him and mind my business as he goes by me.

now there are three ways into my neighbor hood as about 6 are connected. I got in at the farthest one away making a quick get away, the guy wips around in the road and starts following me. so I starting going thru all the neighbor hoods hoping some one will hear his car and call police. I do this for about 10 min takeing him deeper in to where its easier to get away I lost him around a curve and turned off my lights (I know the roads pretty well back there) and creep around and get back to my house. I sit in the drive way with the car off. as he takes the way out. then entire time he was close to me in the neighbor hoods he was getting up next to me and swerving at my car trying to take me off the road or rear end me.

this is the second or third time this truck has done this. I can never get behind him to get a plate to report him.

why do people do this? I don't drive like an jerk I got speed limits and try to get out of peoples way. I haven't cut any one off or really done anything to any one. I am a pretty peaceful driver, and get out of others ways.

I'm afraid this man is going to go home and come back and destroy my car or something. if he is crazy enough to chase me idk what else he could do.

he also drives a truck that has sheet metal that is all different colours.
I also live in a higher middle class housing area. on the out skirts of the farming / hunting areas.
