I have a Kona Sutra tourer with 27speed gears. I want to buy a bike for my girlfriend so that she can come along for a 2 or 3 day ride and have a daily commuting bike from home to work.
I want it to be similar to my bike. 27speed, disc brakes, strong rims. She doesn't like drop down handle bars, so I need flatbars. I looked at a Merida crossway with Deore Xt and a Giant CRX 2.
Are they any good? my budget is about $1000,
