I'm in sixth grade, so I wasn't alive during the age of comics, but since Watchmen has come out, I want to read the original comic. Then I did some research into comics, and I found out about Frank Miller and The Dark Knight Returns. and The Killing Joke and all his other comics and Neil Gaiman and the Sandman comics. I also found out about other comics by Alan Moore, like V for Vendetta and Swamp Thing. Now I don't know which ones to read and I'm kind of overwhelmed. I can't get all of them, because they're like $10 each, and I don't have that kind of money.

I don't like simplistic characters, I love flawed ones and dynamic characters. I think that static characters are necessary to every story, but I hate ones that are the main characters. My favorite part of books is the middle where all of the character development happens. Can you guys give me a quick list of comic books/graphic novels that I should read?

If you never read Watchmen you should, it was really good, probably one of the best books i'll read this year.
