What colour should i paint my wall? any room designer out there?

I have just prep ed all my walls in my living room for repainting I want a nice light colour Bit stuck as i want to keep my carpet and my 2x 2 seaters.Carpet is light red and the 2 seaters are aubergine can some one help out on what colours to use on my walls The room has a chimney breast which is in the centre of the room any help will be great
