btw the new knobs are brushed satin nickel, cabinets will be a country (not bright, blinding) white
We have an original 1970s kitchen in our new-to-us house. We can't afford to do the knock down do over remodel it needs right now so we're just sprucing it up a little. I am going to paint the cabinets and buy new knobs (I would refinish those too but they are apples. Yes, apples...). The hinges are that old dingy dark brass metal so they have to go too. I'm trying to be frugal and not toss away things so I want to paint them. Would it be better to paint them the same metal finish as the new knobs or the same color as the cabinets themselves (to blend in)?
