It has been told that as an army wife,
I have a higher chance of dying in a car crash while my husband is deployed then him dying over there.

Well, this Iraq war has had about 15,000 deaths (including soldier suicides). We have about 2,000,000 members of armed forces. This number does not include the first Bush war in iraq, and partial occupation since then which include 10 years of over 500 US bombing runs on Iraq up to the 2003 invasion.

Do you mind the chances of you killing innocent civilians, or is this something to not ever consider?

Were not talking defending your home and family from a intruder, but going on adventures created by politicians, and funded by those same politicians stealing taxpayer money to pay for the bombs.

Perhaps the idea of destroying a family - who you were never threatened by or would even encounter - because of a politicians dealings with other politicians, is a non issue.

MOS must be taken into accountablity when calculating that sorta thing. Overall though, nobody really knows, that all depends on how you apply the training that has been given to you by the military and how you yourself work as a soldier. Life is unpredictable, you could die from an IED or while in your sleep from old age. there is no for sure percentage with something as unpredictable as being a soldier, i have seen guys die from iraq, or from alcohol poisoning after they got back, the way you live your life and how you take care of yourself will determine your odds of survival.
