What CDMA phone--MOTOKRZR? Chocolate? 6265i? Ebay purchases?

Hi all, been a while since I've come around here.

My V3c screen died because of water damage...not cool. Back to my old brick LG 5450, and I hate it with a passion.

I'm looking to get a CDMA phone (for Telus) with a good Camera, Decent camcorder, clear, high pixel LCD displays, MP3 ringtones

and very important: Can SYNC with a computer, and allow me to put on my OWN mp3 ringtones/transfer images and video so I don't have to be a slave to Telus.

Size is also an issue, especially coming from the thin razr. THe motocrazr I understand is like the razr but with a mp3 player/card slot. This isn't important to me, since I'm fine with my ipod.

I've also been looking at the Nokia 6265i, and the LG chocolate, both seem like good phones, but the 2mp 6265 seems more attractive to me. Is there a reason the Chocolate is so much more expensive than the 6265i?

ALso, I'm with Telus, but buying the phone from them is going to cost more then it would if I get it off ebay. Would I be able to do this and take it to Telus for them to activate with no issue?

Sorry for the lengthy post, but what phone would be best for my needs?

Edit: Or is my timing totally off, and a new amazing special CDMA phone is about to be launched?? I don't want to end up cranky because I couldn't wait a month or so.

Thanks a lot

Oh, also good bluetooth capability is important.

I'm located in British Columbia, Canada. If I were to get the phone off Ebay, what frequency must the phone have? Just so I don't end up with a phone for england use only lol.

Since Telus uses CDMA network so they can be pretty picky about the phones you use. From what I've heard Telus won't add a non-Telus phone on to their network (unless you have connection with people working at Telus ). So if you buy from eBay, you need to get Telus phones. Beside that, there aren't much selections for CDMA phones you can get.
Welcome to the amazing CDMA technology!

lol thanks for the spirited welcome!

I've been with telus for a couple years now...I hate the service I get from the customer reps, and the crap selection, but I like my number too much to switch over.

I was looking around ebay, and realized just what you said---Telus won't activate a non-telus phone.

So if I were to get a Telus phone (one of the above selections, or perhaps another?) which one should I get considering my specs above?

Thanks all

Well, I've always been with Rogers, so I can't really comment on CDMA phones. You will probably get better recommandations if you post the question at Telus forum.
Also, number portability will be coming to Canada on March 14th. Starting at that time, you can take your phone number and transfer between service providers. I got a friend who fed up with the selection of Bell's phone, he's going to switch on March 14th.
For GSM phones, there are a lot of selections, for your need. You could go with something like a Motorola PEBL, or maybe a Motorola L6. If you want, you can even get an original RAZR which are pretty cheap right now.

Just posted in the Telus forum

I'd love to do the number swap when the time arrives, but I'm still on a 2 year contract with these guys :S After that, back to Rogers I come.

Thanks
