what causes the heart rate to go up in asthma patient

When you have an asthma attack, you are not able to get carbon dioxide out of your lungs as easily and less oxygen is taken in. When less oxygen is taken in, your heart pumps harder to try to obtain oxygen that is not readily available. Also, the anxiety from having an attack will increase your adrenaline levels which will cause your heart rate to go up.
