I changed the brake pads and after a few days they were still squeaking so I went and got a brake silencer spray and decided to remove the pads and do the job again. When trying to take off the wheel with a regular cross like tire iron the first nut seemed to be coming loose but ripped right off with a piece of the bolt. This also happened to another bolt.
What causes a wheel lug to brake off by hand when trying to unscrew it?
