What car parts are compatible with a 1983 Chevy Camaro?

so i just bought a 1983 chevy camaro and a junk yard were i live is letting me take parts off of their cars. what cars used the same engine, carburetor, parts etc that the 83 camaros did...ps its a v6....or would it just be better to put a newer engine in the car so its not as hard to find parts
