Which restaurants are horrible, bad areas of town, what to steer clear of & what to be sure to see/visit/do?

We're renting a beach house near the beach where the river delta is - anything fun for kids to see there? My FIL mentioned treacherous logs in the ocean? What's that all about??

Thanks for any insight you may have!!

treacherous logs are always a danger, just don't get on logs that are still in water, you'll be fine. Lincoln city is a great kid town. lots of neat shops, and there is an indoor fun center (indoor golf, few arcade games, batting cages) right on the main drag. VERY close to where your staying. The beach where the "D" river meets the ocean is great, lots of parking, lots of beach area, ritght next to the Sands hotel. Go to Depot Bay,eat at moes, then walk over to the beach- great driftwood to build a fire, and the water is fairly calm in the little inlet there. Back in Lincoln City there is an awesome Bakery decorated in fifties theme right on a corner on main street again. Check out Bobs Books, a rundown dumpy building that is crammed full of books and HUGE, though it looks small from the road. There is a theater in town also. Eat breakfast at Wildflowers restuarant ( house thats been converted into a restaurant) it's located just as you come into town, almost across from shopping center that has Goodwill and stuff in it. Its on your left coming into L.City, kind of down in a hole off the road. AWESOME food. I love Lincoln City, my kids do too.

There are no bad areas of town in Lincoln City. Lots of shopping, family friendly environment. What the guy ahead of you said, if you see logs in the ocean, don't let your kids play on them. Make sure you take a trip to Newport too. Lots of stuff to see and do there too for familes.
