What can you tell me about Humboldt State University for undergrad and UC Berkeley?

I'm a sophomore and I'm considering going to Humboldt State University for undergrad and then to UC Berkeley for grad school. Would this be a good decision? Are they both academically good schools? And what is the social life like in both places?
 
UC Berkley is one of the top schools in the country, and Humboldt State is well...not even close. I think the average HS GPA for entering freshman at Humboldt State is a 3.13. That is not very good. If you want UC Berkley for grad school then i wouldn't do Humboldt State because where you go to school does affect admissions. For example if Berkley had to make a decision between a person with a 3.5 from Harvard and a 3.5 from Humboldt, they will take Harvard in a heart beat. Also recommendation letters are important for a big grad school like Berkley, at Humboldt i highly doubt you would get any high profile recommendations from leading professors in their field.
