What can you do with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science?

What type of job, if any, can you go for? Does this degree allow you to be a counselor? Does it allow acceptance into a psychology masters/doctorate program? I have been advised to get a Social Science BA Degree and just don't know what I can do with it. What if all I get is the BA? What can it do for me?
TIA
Well I switched majors from Forensic Psychology because the school I was transferring to did not have that major, none of the schools around here did. So with all the psych classes I had taken and also all the criminology, criminal justice classes I had, it was recommended that I go into SS to expedite my degree and also that was the best way to keep all the credits I had earned to that point (3 years in Forensic Psych by that point - I moved).

I am very interested in Behavioral Psychology, but was wondering if I could start working in the field somehow with my degree instead of it just sitting on the wall.

The BA alone isn't very useful. Yes, you could probably become a counsellor, however there are other specific programs for that as well.

I think moving on to a Masters in something more career-specific would be the best option.

I'm curious as to why a BA in Soc Sci was recommended for you...
