What can I use as a separator for my fish tank?

I've got a large fish tank that i want to use as a livebearer tank but I want to have 3 sections ( male, female and breeding section) what can I use that lets heat and the bubblers bubbles. Things like mesh or things that want hurt my fish. Also can I have some info about breeding swordtails and guppies.
 
just go to a crafts store and purchase a fine mesh/net that can fit the sides of the tank, then somehow adhere it to the walls, probably by using silicone (though you may have to drain the water first and move the fish to a smaller temporary home)
