What can i spend my remaining financial aid on?

Besides tuition and books, what else can i spend my financial aid on? I heard i can spend it on transportation and rent/room and board. I would be taking the bus and i live on my own.

Another question i have is, with the remaining financial aid how do i prove that i am paying it towards whats legally allowed instead of lets say a stereo? And what if i spend the remaining financial aid on everything that is allowed and still have left over money, do i have to send it back or what do i do with it?
 
im really wondering this too. Im expecting anywhere from 2000 to 6000 dollars i would like to spend some on an upcoming vacation in january, and maybe a new car. I caant figure out how theyd find out what you spend it on anyway......
