What can i eat to make it lighter?

I have just finished my period and it was alot heavier than my others (it was only my 5 or 6th one) i know they are not on time and stuff but all of mine have been 28 days apart (or 21 not counting the days i have my period)
Is there something i can eat or drink to make it lighter?
i hardly get PMS, maybe 1/2 hour before i have a light stomach ache. So nothing really bout that, oh and is my PMSing likely to get worse??, my mum gets slightly worse ones, but how she said hers was when she got it was like the complete oppsite to mine....
Her first one she was in bed all week, but mine i didn't feel a thing, hers were all over the place (not on time), mine aren't- mine are nearly always on time, is this normal??
