What can I eat during the day before I go to the gym?

I train 4/5 times a week & I generally find myself eating very similar things everyday. It is often a brown bread sandwich mid morning with either chicken or ham or any other meat & then some brown pasta and fruit an hour or so before I train. Im looking for some alternatives to eat during the day so I am still keeping up food intake but not eating rubbish that is going to be bad for my training.
