What can I do?

Not sure where I should actually post this. I work on the 22nd floor of a building. Lately I've noticed that I start feeling very stuffed up and sometimes lightheaded and dizzy while I'm working. I assumed it might be caused from the higher altitude but I really don't know. Anyone have any thoughts on this? And what can be done? I can't quit my job haha.

Hi Bostongirl44

You must work in the city because I do not recall any buildings North of Boston with 22 floors.

My one questions for you is, when you leave the building do your symptoms disappear? Did these symptoms start just recently? My thought is that the season is changing and alot of people are beginning to come down with colds and allergies. Is a possiblility that maybe you have a little head cold that really is not bothering you when you are down on the ground level; however, when you go up to a higher level the pressures are causing you're head cold to really effect you. If this is the case, try taking a decongestion before you leave for work and see if that helps relieve your symptoms.

Just a thought.

Thanks for the responses! I've been working there for about a month now. I didn't start noticing these symptoms til about a week ago. I have had a blocked ear (due to allergies) during this time so that definitely contributed to having that off balanced feeling. However, I went to the doctor on Thursday and they cleared that problem up for me. I don't notice the "off feeling" until the end of the day.

My ears pop as I'm taking the elevator up and I usually feel fine. I do notice that the symptoms go away as soon as I get to the ground level though. My only guess is that it could have something to do with the circulation of air in the building and/or my bad allergies and being at a higher altitude.

And yes, Shisslak, I'm definitely not working north of Boston, working in the the city.

I think I've solved my problem. I really do think the dizzy/weak feeling was my blocked ear/allergy problems that caused me to feel so awful while I was at work. I've been here all day and haven't had any problems. So hopefully I can put an end to this. Thanks again!
