What can i do to prepare for a career in medicine?

I am a high school sophomore. I want to pursue a career in medicine, specifically in oncology or somewhere in surgery. what can i do this summer to get some stuff to put on my college and med applications? For example, volunteering, doing summer jobs, leadership programs, ect. (any summer programs you have in mind?)
