What can I do to help my dog overcome the fear of thunder and storm?

Almost nothing. I had the same problem w/ one of mine (maybe worse). I've read and heard that the fear of thunder, fireworks, and gunshots is burned into a pup's system when they're only days old.

Mine was a hunting breed and the runt of the litter. She probably never stood a chance at being fielded. We bought her for the breed's demeanor.

The best we could do was be sure to have her in the house and be with her when storms came and on the 4th of July.

He is a very brave and lively dog. Super alert and very active always. Also hyper. But the sound of thunder just paralyzes him and he runs to the corners of the wall
