I'm looking into one day becoming a cop and wanted to know now what could I do to make me a more desirable candidate. I'm 20 years old and am currently a volunteer at my local sheriffs office. I have had 2 steady jobs in retail as management but was wondering what other job I could get that would help me put my foot in the door? Maybe mall security or doing paperwork at my local sheriffs office or police department? Should I get EMT certification or just keep doing volunteer work? Can't I get a job in corrections at my age also? I'm starting school in january to try and get my criminal justice degree. Any advice you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
