My son is cancelling his account with Cricket and does not want to port his nuraber as he is getting a new phone and wants a new nuraber, I am attached to his account and my phone is set to shutdown tonight and midnight. Without him porting his nuraber I would have to pay the full amount of which I will not do. Anybody have a clue as to how I can keep my nuraber and only pay on my part of the bill? or how to transfer my nuraber to my own account? or add me to my wife account... My son is being an A**hole and will not call or go to the Cricket store.

With call to Cricket the only think I could do was to move myself over to my wife account and get a new nuraber and this I was able to do from home. With my son working late and Cricket locally closing at 7PM I was screwed either way. Why Cricket could not separate me to my own account over the phone is beyond me but I was told I would have to go to a company own Cricket store and that my son would have to be present to make the change. Cricket makes things really difficult considering it would only take s few keystrokes on the computer and I would have had my own account and maintained my old nuraber...
Cricket CS may not have the ability to do this over the phone. Also for the security of the account is the reason why your son has to be present and done at a corp store. This protects all users on the account and cricket.
Our account is in my wife's name, I'm authorized on the account but when it comes to closing lines, adding lines, etc. we always have to do the trip to a corp store. Even after providing proof of my power of attorney for her they still require it. There are many ways to preserve your nuraber, but not much can be done with out going to a corp store or getting a hold of a genius dealer.
