What can I do legally to assure a doctor that I will not sue for decisions I

make about my own health care? I’ve had some pretty frustrating run-ins with defensive medicine, and was curious if there is anything that I can do as a patient to assure the doctor that I will not hold him or her legally accountable for my own decisions. As I grow older and begin to fall within the recommended age brackets of more and more preventative tests, I fear that this will only become more difficult for me to avoid. If I, for example, choose not to biopsy a suspicious clump of cells but still desire to be seen by a doctor for other reasons, is there anything that I can sign or present to a doctor, such as a liability waiver or the like, to avoid being denied treatment altogether?
