What can I do for financial aid?

I haven't yet filed for FAFSA. I'm going but I have to include my parent's income information because under FAFSA guidelines, I am dependent. Of course I have seen my parents only twice in the past two years; they have not contributed a dollar since I moved out. I pay rent, tuition, living expenses, etc on my own.

If you want financial aid, you'll have to fill out a fafsa application. If your parents will not provide their information, you will not be eligible to receive any financial aid. Even if your parents income or assets is too high for grants, you will still be eligible for financial aid in the form of federal stafford loans (which is the most common form of financial aid). You can apply for most scholarships without your parents' information, but for federal/state financial aid, you'll need it.
