what can i discuss during a get-together with someone i dont really know?

I'm meeting with my half brother today - we have the same father- hes 18 and im 23 (female)... were just getting together to try and establish a relationship. He just found out about me a couple years ago.. so im trying to go slow for his sake hehe :)

... im excited but nervous! so my mind i blank haha-> what do you think? its hard b/c i've been an only child im nervous.. what little gift should i get him? i got him a cute graduation card (b/c he grad on sat) but what kind of little gift?

People have stories, get him to tell you what his life has been like . . . sort of an interview . . . be honest about your self and your nervousness . . .

Well if he lives with your father, you could ask him questions about him. You can ask what his childhood was like. What is he doing now? Where is he planning on going to college? What was it like without a dad (if he does not live with him)? Where is he working? What are some of his hobbies? Favorite movies, books, music, ect?--maybe you have stuff in common since you are related. Bring along some pictures of you growing up, maybe some with your dad too.

As far as a gift goes-- if he is going to college you can get him some stuff for his dorm. Or you can get him gift cards or something, that one is hard.
