I have 300 sq ft of 70's ceramic tile, set in 2 inches (I'm serious) of concrete. There's no way I'm paying $8000 to take that up. I've read vinyl tile won't stick to ceramic. I don't want to add any more weight or height to the floor by adding laminate. Is vinyl plank my only option (because it floats)? Is it possible to chisel up the ceramic (leaving the concrete there) and using something to cover the concrete, or is that ceramic stuck for life?
