The key elements to civilization are political and social institutions, progress of art/science and record keeping. I say all of these things could be found at our nations capital, The White House. Or if you don't want to use the White House find another building or structure that represents all of them. Buildings such as the Coliseum in Rome or the Pyramids in Egypt would also represent this. Just ideas.
