I am looking into getting a dog.
I have owned various breeds before - mostly pound mutts, and now am looking into getting a properly bred dog from a reputable breeder.
I am looking for a dog that is:
- Medium Sized (30-60lbs)
- Able to go for long runs (at least 2 miles each day if not more)
- Enjoys playing fetch (At least an hour a day)
- Lots of energy
- Intelligent
- Not "goofy"
- Doesn't "love everyone"
- Shedding isn't a big deal - I actually tend to prefer dogs that do shed
- One that I can do agility/flyball with, and that will excel in either of those
- Not a huge drooler ( I know all dogs drool, I just don't want one that will slobber on me all the time)
Annd I think that's it, if you have any more questions just ask
What breed seems to suit this?
As I said, pound mutts. Some dominant, some submissive, I have ensured that I was seen as the "Alpha" by all of them.
No small children will be visiting my home, however there are some in the neighbourhood and at the park. He/She will be trained on how to act with them.
I do have a bird, she is kept caged unless the dogs are outside.
