What brand of oil motor is better for Ducati 1098???

Oil is oil for the most part...any big name brand will do just make sure you use synthetic and one taylored for motorcycles. You don't want friction modifyers like those used in auto applications (though this pertains more to my 848 with a wet clutch...your 1098 this prob won't really matter). I'm partial to Amsoil and swear by it

Always wanted to try amsoil lot of guys at work use it in thier diesel trucks filter kits and all.
But I use red line 15 50 in my 1198 and castrol in my s2r and royal purple in my ford.
Interesting someone said misprint in owners manual. Going to start asking dealer

My dad has an older Harley and he swares by Amsoil. Heard a lot of good about Amsoil.

I used Motul for many years ago, and i opened the motor, and was great with a light gray on pieces, really good. I just curious with Shell Ultra because the stick on motor. Is it really good????

Good alright, but so are most leading brand oils. I like it because Ducati
recomend it. Im more curious about proper viscosity as Im getting different
recomendations by diferent dealers.

Any Ducati mechanics out there like to give there opinion???

It depends on the weather and conditions you ride in. Download the manual from Ducati and it has a chart on which you use under what conditions.
