What are some books and authors similar to these or even just a little bit different that I would like? Twilight = thumbs down.I am well aware of What Should I read next website but its slow, and i don't get good recommendations from there.

Wow I see some intellect in you. I appreciate the question. I'll stick with one recommendation: Anna Karenina by Tolstoy.

Besides the overall story arch which many people already know, it's a sensitive and honest tale of human emotions.

If you've already read that, check out Philip Pullman for fantasy, maybe?
