I'm giving a gift to a disadvantaged boy - anonymously through the Salvation Army. He asked for a bicycle, is 9 yrs old, size 16 Husky. I looked at a BMX style bike at a local bike shop - fixed gear, one hand brake. It's $179 plus I'd buy a helmet. The salesman said this will last because it's basically one size fits all (they ride small bikes to get better handling). The boy lives in a small city (80,000 people) and it's a little hilly. What do you think?
