“What I value most about Pastor Wright is not his day-to-day political advice,” Obama said. “He’s much more of a sounding board for me to make sure that I am speaking as truthfully about what I believe as possible and that I’m not losing myself in some of the hype and hoopla and stress that’s involved in national politics.”

This is "HIS" statement made about a man whose sermons would make Dr Goebbles blush!

Obama NOW "repudiates", "disavows" and is trying to distance himself as fast and as far as possible from the man he said was his "sounding board" "valued friend" and "mentor" ?!?!

But a 20 year relationship is kind of hard to dissolve in a "poof" of instant denial?

People really need to read Obama's books they reveal who and what he truly is all about!

What say you?

So, should we judge YOU by the company you keep? Do we assume that people automatically agree with EVERYTHING their friends / teachers / parents / mentors happen to believe / say? A 'sounding board' is someone you knock ideas around with, so by definition, not somebody you necessarily agree with.....

Anyway, in your quote he also says;
"What I value most about Pastor Wright is not his day-to-day political advice"

Note the 'not'....

Who cares?

Barack will beat Hillary (I am sad Billary will not be the first lady)!! Then Hillary feeling the shame of losing to Barack will contest the election as the Independent, Leaving Republican voters to win again!! In a nut shell.

Anyone of high political status who relies upon a religious leader to help him through the stress that's involved in politics poses a serious threat. If Obama is prone to stress he is prone to possible mental fragility and could be easily swayed in his opinions.

I have not heard Pastor Wright's sermons. Is there a site that would give me information on this?

And, if as you say, the fact that Obama now "repudiates", "disavows" and is distancing himself from a so-called friend and mentor could indicate that Obama's opinions are easily challenged in the pursuit of political gain and I personally would not trust someone who has this nature.

He could "swing" in the face of opposition depending on which majority of people he felt he had to appease or please most over whatever issues were being debated.
